How much does a cushion add to an entryway bench seat?

Two to three inches. A bench sold with a cushion normally quotes the finished height, cushion included, but one sold as a frame does not — so an 18-inch frame you add a pad to becomes a 20 to 21 inch seat, which is above the 18 to 19 inch residential standard.

That is the whole reason this page exists separately from the main bench roundup. Once a cushion is involved, the height printed on the box and the height your legs meet are two different numbers, and which one a maker published is not always obvious.
