Privacy policy

The short version

Tray & Threshold has no accounts, no logins and no shopping cart, so there is very little to collect. We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic figures, Amazon Associates tracking on outbound product links, and we receive whatever you type into the contact form.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked. It records things like page path, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, device type and browser. We use it in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors and have no way to do so.

One custom event is recorded: an affiliate_click event when a product link is followed, carrying the merchant, the destination URL and the page it happened on. That is how we know which recommendations are useful. Google's own privacy terms govern the data once it reaches them.

Browser-level tracking protection, an ad blocker or a Do Not Track setting will generally prevent all of this, and nothing on the site breaks if it does.

Affiliate links

Product links pass through a redirect on this domain that adds our Amazon Associates tracking tag, then send you to Amazon. Amazon sets its own cookies at that point and its privacy policy applies from then on. The purpose is to attribute a purchase to this site so we earn a commission; the tag carries no information about you that Amazon does not already have.

We never see your order, your payment details, your address or your name. The only thing that reaches us is an aggregate report from Amazon of what was bought through the tag.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message. It is delivered to info@trayandthreshold.com by email and kept only as long as it takes to deal with. It is not added to a mailing list — there is no mailing list.

The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that automated systems fill in and humans do not, a check on how long the form was open, and a per-address submission limit. None of these store anything about you beyond the request itself.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own, and Amazon sets its own once you follow a product link. Blocking either in your browser has no effect on the content here.

Third parties

• Google Analytics — aggregate traffic and link-click measurement.
• Amazon Associates — commission attribution on outbound product links.
• Vercel — hosting, which processes standard server request logs.
• Microsoft — delivery of contact form messages by email.

There are no advertising networks, no third-party ad scripts, no retargeting pixels and no social media trackers on this site.

Your choices

Use a tracking blocker if you would rather not be counted in the analytics; nothing here depends on it. To ask what we hold from a contact form message, or to have it deleted, write to info@trayandthreshold.com and we will action it.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than made quietly.
