Editorial policy

Sourcing

• Every dimension comes from the manufacturer's published specification, listing or assembly manual, and the source is named on the page.
• Every dimension appears in inches and centimeters. Inches are authored once and centimeters derived, so the two cannot drift.
• Standards figures — hallway widths, seat heights, hook heights, shoe sizing — are cited to their source, and anything we calculate on top of them is labeled as ours.
• Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, the page says so. We do not interpolate, estimate from a photograph, or average a competitor's number in.
• Prices come only from the live price layer, with a visible verification date. No price is ever written into copy.

Claims this site will not make

These are prohibited outright, in headings, body copy, alt text and meta descriptions:

• Any testing claim. No we tested, no hands-on, no in our testing, no test unit, no after weeks with. We have not handled these products.
• Any tenure or credential claim for the author. No long-time, no veteran, no years of experience, no seasoned, no expert, no specialist.
• Any fabricated review, testimonial, rating or review count. We publish none, because we have collected none.
• Any urgency or scarcity language. We do not control price or stock, and manufactured urgency would contradict everything else here.
• Any figure presented as measured that was in fact estimated.

Structured data

The site emits Organization, WebSite, BreadcrumbList, Article, FAQPage, Product and ItemList markup. It deliberately emits no Review, reviewRating or aggregateRating, because marking an editorial score up as a review rating would assert a first-hand evaluation we plainly did not perform.

A Product node never carries an Offer without a verified live price. An invented price in structured data is the same fabrication as an invented price in copy, and harder for a reader to catch.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, tell us at info@trayandthreshold.com and include the source if you have one. Corrections to a dimension, a load rating or a capacity go to the front of the queue, because those are the numbers people are making decisions on.

When we correct something material, the page's last-updated date changes and, where the correction affects a ranking, the change is noted on the page rather than made quietly.

When dates change

A last-updated date on this site means the content changed. It does not move because prices refreshed, because the site was redeployed, or because a build ran.

That matters more than it sounds. The daily price refresh redeploys this whole site; if every page claimed to have changed every day, the date would stop meaning anything to a reader or to a search engine, and we would lose the only honest signal we have for saying a roundup was genuinely revisited.

Update cadence

• Daily: price verification, with the as-of date shown wherever a price renders.
• Monthly: top-pick availability. A discontinued pick is replaced, not left in place.
• Quarterly: full specification re-verification across every roundup.
• Quarterly: a review of these trust pages themselves.
